NORMAN I. GERNERT, 98, of New Oxford, entered into the presence of the Lord, Sunday, January 16, 2005, at the Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. He was the husband of Millicent (Oaks) Gernert of New Oxford. Born November 20, 1906, in Reading PA, he was the son of the late Irvin and Virginia (Walk) Gernert. He was retired from Martin Aircraft in Baltimore, MD. Surviving are one daughter, Minanne-Sue Klug of Hanover; one son, Oakes N. Gernert of Greensburg, PA; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sylvester Gernert of Murphy, NC, and Robert Gernert of Reading, PA. He is preceded in death by a grandson and three sisters, Florence Ritenaer, Helen Hertzog, and Virginia Van Pelt. A Memorial service will be held 7 P.M., Friday, January 28, 2005, at the Nicarry Meetinghouse at the Brethren Home Community, Village Dr., New Oxford, PA, 17350. Hicks Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave., Mc Sherrystown is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Child Evangelism, P.O. Box 348, Warrenton, MO 63383. CATHERINE ANN GORDON of Frederick, MD; wife of the late Henry Gordon; father of Kenneth Williams and wife Nicole, Cynthia Mitchell and Elizabeth Zeigler and husband John all of Frederick, and Benjamin Moose of Baltimore; grandmother of Jacqueline Moose, Jacob Moose, Christine Lowman, John Zeigler, Jr., Jeremy Zeigler and Sabrina Williams; sister of 7, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 22, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with Rev. Tom Fralin officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Catholic Charities, 411 Cathedral St., Baltimore, MD 21201.
