Hearing on Route 32 slated for Wednesday

State Sen. Allan H. Kittleman and delegates Gail H. Bates and Warren E. Miller will hold a public hearing on proposed improvements to Route 32 at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Glenelg High School auditorium, 14025 Burntwoods Road, Glenelg.

Maps and other materials will be on display, and representatives from the State Highway Administration will be available to discuss them from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.The Audubon Society of Central Maryland is holding a winter birdseed sale this month.

Audubon Society to hold winter birdseed sale

Proceeds will help support the society's two wildlife sanctuaries in eastern Frederick County.

Order forms are available at libraries and on the chapter's Web site, www.centralmdaudu bon.org.

Orders will be available for pickup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 5 in the social hall of Prospect United Methodist Church, 5923 Woodville Road, Mount Airy.

River Hill High to present talent showcase Jan. 21

The music department of River Hill High School will present its annual RHHStival, a showcase for emerging musical talent in Howard County, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Jan. 21 in the school auditorium.

The alternative rock music festival features performances by students from around the county. Participants are selected by audition.

Tickets, on sale at the door, are $8. River Hill High School is at 12101 Route 108, Clarksville.

Rep. Cummings to hold town hall meeting Jan. 22

Elijah E. Cummings, a Democrat who represents Maryland's 7th District in the House of Representatives, will hold a town hall meeting from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Glenwood library, 2350 Route 97 in Cooksville.
