Player of the Year

Chris Jones, Century

With the foot skills of a field player, great hands and the vocal presence of a leader, the senior was clearly the best goalie in Carroll County this season, as well as a major reason why Century finished 14-2 and claimed the county title.

Jones allowed just seven goals and led the county with a .945 save percentage. He had the agility to make saves anywhere in the box, as well as uncanny quickness off the line.

Coach of the Year

Scott Smith, Century

After losing all three starting defenders from a team that won the Class 2A state title, Smith had to start from scratch in the back.

The results, however, were much the same, as the Knights allowed just eight goals and finished 14-2 to capture Carroll County and Monocacy Valley Athletic League Piedmont Conference championships. Dominant at times, the team recorded 13 of its victories by two or more goals.

Smith, also the county Coach of the Year last season, is 25-4-3 in his two years at Century.
