2 men sought in robbery of Westminster hitchhiker

Maryland State Police are searching for two men who they said robbed a hitchhiker at gunpoint in Westminster on Sunday.

State police said the men approached Terrence Mallick Jr., 34, of Westminster at 12:30 a.m. as he was walking in the 400 block of Old New Windsor Pike. Mallick told police that the two men were riding in a small, light-colored four-door sedan and asked him if he wanted a ride. Mallick agreed and said he told the men he would pay for gas.

When Mallick pulled out his money, the man in the passenger seat brandished a silver handgun and demanded the rest of his cash, police said. Mallick complied, and the driver pulled over to let Mallick out uninjured.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Cpl. Jeffrey Tanzola at 410-386- 3000.
