Md. restaurant group names special events, marketing posts
Licia Spinelli has been named director of special events and volunteer coordination for the Restaurant Association of Maryland. Rachel Moses is the new director of marketing and communications.
Spinelli, who received her bachelor's degree in theater and communications from the University of Maryland, College Park, will plan events in support of the association and the Maryland Hospitality Education Foundation, the association's education arm.
Moses is responsible for keeping the association's membership and the media informed, and for marketing to members, the media and the public. She received her bachelor's degree in film studies and theater from the University of Pittsburgh.
The Restaurant Association of Maryland, a 3,000-member organization serving the food-service and lodging industries and their suppliers, has its headquarters in Columbia.
Winn elected to board of Columbia Bancorp
James J. Winn Jr. has been elected to the board of directors of Columbia Bancorp, a bank holding company with headquarters in Columbia.
Its subsidiary, The Columbia Bank, operates 24 branch banking offices in the Baltimore-Washington area.
Winn is a retired partner of Piper Rudnick LLP, and manager and sole member of Winn Group LLC, a timber company based in Alabama. Winn also advises Kokernot 06 Ranch Inc., a Texas cattle-ranching and land company.
