WILLIAM ROBERT RILEY, SR., age 85, died Thursday, December 9, 2004, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Benjamin F. Riley, Sr. and Bertha E. Smiley Riley. He is survived by his wife Etha Linda Ireland Riley; a son William R. Riley, Jr. and his wife Lynn of Forest Hill, MD; a daughter Donna J. Evans and her husband Bob of Finksburg, MD; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters Betsy Azzaro of New Haven, CT, Mary Catherine Buttner of Airville, PA and Bertha Justice of Ellicott City, MD and numerous nieces and nephews. A brother Benjamin F. Riley, Jr. preceded him in death. Mr. Riley was a United States Army Chief Warrant Officer, had served from 1939 to 1978 and had worked as an automotive maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the 29th Infantry Division, was a life member of the National Guard of the United States and the National Guard of Maryland. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2004, 2:00 P.M., at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton.
