Libraries accepting winter wear for people in need

The Carroll County Public Library is teaming up with Neighbors in Need for the 21st year to provide holiday help to the needy.

The library accepts donated gloves, mittens, scarves and hats for adults and children through mitten trees set up at all five branches.

Donations will be accepted until Jan. 3.

The mitten trees were initially called Charlie Brown's Mitten Tree, until six years ago when its name was changed to reflect the public library mascot, Corky. Each library branch has a Corky Mitten Tree that patrons can hang donations on.

Items can be donated at local library branches or by contacting Neighbors In Need at 410- 857-2999.
