Baltimore City

Northeastern District

Victim named: Police identified Michael Keitt, 19, yesterday as the man found fatally shot early Saturday in the 4800 block of Herring Run Drive in Hamilton. Keitt, homeless and a ward of the state, suffered shotgun wounds to the head and chest and was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Vernon Parker at 410-396-2100.

Central District

Arrest: Michael Benson of the 800 block of Whitelock St. was arrested Tuesday at his home on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Benson, 23, is charged with shooting Corey Savage, 27, on Aug. 1 in the 2200 block of Madison Ave. Seized by police after Benson's arrest was a large-caliber revolver believed used in the shooting and 99 vials of crack cocaine. Benson also was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.

Southeastern District

Burglary: Tools and a fax machine, together valued at $760, were stolen Monday from a construction trailer parked in the 1400 block of Lancaster St.

Baltimore County

Parkville Precinct

Stabbing/arrest: A woman, 34, was being held at the Detention Center charged with stabbing her estranged husband and his sister-in-law with a knife Monday after forcing her way into the man's home in the 100 block of Aven Way. Charged with two counts of attempted murder was Maria Nwaehiri, whose address was not available. Police said she violated a peace order.

Essex Precinct

Shooting: A man, 18, of the 1100 block of Tace Drive was home about 2:30 a.m. Monday when two men, one with a handgun, forced their way into the dwelling. The gunman fired at least three shots, one of which struck the occupant. The victim was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment of a nonlife-threatening wound. No arrests had been made.
