Baltimore City


Northeastern District

Shooting: A 19-year-old man who broke up a fight between a friend and other men in the 3600 block of Elmley Ave. about 10:20 p.m. Tuesday was about to drive away when he was wounded in the shoulder, arm and neck by an unknown man firing a shotgun. The victim was in good condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.


Southeastern District

Theft: Someone broke into a truck owned by George J. Falter Candy & Tobacco while it was stopped at a traffic light in the 1000 block of Dundalk Ave. about 11 a.m. Tuesday and stole cigarettes valued at $2,200.

Eastern District

Stolen vehicle/arrest: After police ticketed a 2003 GMC Denali sport utility vehicle illegally parked in the 1300 block of N. Patterson Park Ave. on Tuesday, a check on the vehicle indicated that it had been reported stolen earlier in the day. While police kept the vehicle under surveillance, a man left a nearby house, opened the SUV's door with a key, then closed the door and walked away. Arrested and charged with auto theft was Stewart M. Johnson, 49, of the 1200 block of E. Eager St.

Northern District

Arrest: Responding to a theft-in-progress call about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Blockbuster Video in the 1000 block of W. 41st St., police arrested a man as he stuffed several DVDs under his shirt.

Baltimore County

Cockeysville Precinct


Burglary: Someone entered Sparks Full Serve Inc. in the 14900 block of York Road early Tuesday and removed an automated teller machine that had been bolted to the floor. Police said the machine - valued at $5,800 - contained no money.

Franklin Precinct

Vandalism: A woman about to enter her car parked in the first block of Business Center Drive about 5 p.m. Monday noticed someone had scratched KKK on one of the vehicle's doors.
