Arrests: Four men were arrested Saturday night and charged with possession of narcotics and unlawful possession of a handgun after the car in which they were riding was stopped for speeding by two district policemen. Officers Bobby Marvel and David Skica were riding in a marked car in the 2600 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway when they stopped the 1985 Buick. Believing the car contained contraband, the officers searched it and found 13 vials of suspected cocaine, three bags containing marijuana, a loaded .380-caliber semiautomatic handgun and drug paraphernalia, they reported. Charged were the driver, Dwayne Gadson, 45, and Darrell Avery, 19, both of the 2500 block of Clifton Ave.; Alvin Reaves, 43, of the 1500 block of Braddish Ave.; and Kamel Williams, 19, of the 5500 block of Windsor Mill Road.
Robbery: Carla Lewis, 19, was walking in the 2500 block of Riggs Ave. about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when two men, one with a handgun, robbed her of her purse containing a cell phone and cash. The loss in goods and money was put at $150.
Burglary: A thief broke into Uptown Bar in the 1900 block of Edmondson Ave. through an adjacent vacant dwelling during the weekend and stole more than $200 in liquor, cigarettes and cash.
Stolen vehicle: A green 1997 Plymouth Voyager with tags 278M133 was stolen Saturday in the 6400 block of Eastern Ave.
Assault: Edwin Gillen, 22, was walking in the 2600 block of Eastern Ave. about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when he was attacked by another man who struck him with a sword, causing a minor head laceration. Police said a warrant has been issued charging Elder Ciznero, 32, address unknown, with aggravated assault.
Burglary: Power saws valued at $1,000 were stolen Tuesday from a building under construction in the 300 block of N. Ellwood Ave. The burglary was reported Saturday.
Stolen vehicle: A gold two-door 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with tags LBJ 647 was stolen Tuesday in the 3600 block of 6th St. The theft was reported Saturday.
Stolen vehicle: A 1997 Mack truck with tags 461F35 was stolen over the weekend in the 2100 block of Russell St. The theft was caught on a surveillance camera.
Burglary: Someone entered an apartment in the 2100 block of Cameron Drive through the front door Saturday and removed $500 from under a mattress and took several pieces of jewelry from a dresser drawer.
Robbery: A man carrying a weed-cutting tool entered a store in the 12000 block of Tullamore Road about 4 p.m. Saturday, implied he was armed with a handgun and ordered a 40-year-old man onto the floor. The robber bound the victim's hands with a necktie before removing an undisclosed sum of money from his wallet. After the robber fled, the victim ran to a nearby store, where employees called the police.
Burglary: A computer, monitor, video games and cash were stolen over the weekend from an apartment in the 8100 block of Ridgetown Drive. The loss was estimated at $1,515.
Burglary/vandalism: After breaking into Hillcrest Swim Club in the 7500 block of Queen Anne Road on Saturday, intruders threw chairs and other property into the pool and damaged a telephone and other items.
Burglary: Two bicycles valued at $550 were stolen Saturday from the patio of an apartment in the first block of Pikehall Place.
Robbery: A 34-year-old man was walking along a trail near Cervine Lane about 8:30 a.m. Saturday when two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed him of $90 and a set of keys.
Robbery: A 22-year-old man was stepping from his car in the first block of Phlox Circle about 4 a.m. Saturday when three males, one with a knife, robbed him of $400.-
