Baltimore City


Eastern District

Shooting: A 19-year-old man was standing in the 1400 block of E. Lanvale St. about 4:15 p.m. yesterday when an unidentified gunman shot him in the right leg. The victim was treated at an area hospital. Police knew of no motive for the shooting.


Northwestern District

Robbery: Three men, one with a handgun, robbed a woman, 42, of her purse containing a small sum of money as she walked late Friday in the 5500 block of Gwynn Oak Ave.

Robbery: A 43-year-old woman was walking near her home in the 4200 block of Piedmont Ave. about 11:30 p.m. Friday when two females, one armed with a knife, robbed her of an envelope containing $556.

Robbery: A gunman robbed a woman, 64, of $130 about 3:30 p.m. Saturday while the victim walked in the 5400 block of Park Heights Ave.

Southern District

Robbery/assault: William Moore, 38, was walking in the 1200 block of S. Carey St about 8 p.m. Saturday when two men, one armed with a handgun, demanded his money while attempting to force him into an alley. After robbing Moore of $100 and a cell phone, the gunman struck Moore on the right arm with his weapon. As Moore fled, he heard the gunman's accomplice say, "Don't shoot him."

Rape: After leaving a bar in the 800 block of Herkimer St. early Saturday, a 56-year-old woman accepted an invitation to a party from a man in a pickup truck. At an unknown location, the man parked, forced the woman from the vehicle and raped her in the back of the truck. She called police and was taken to Mercy Medical Center for treatment.

Rape: A woman, 37, was walking in the 800 block of E. Patapsco Ave. about 3 a.m. Saturday on her way home when man known to her as Mike and driving a gold Jeep Cherokee offered her a ride. When the man stopped near several junked vehicles in the 1700 block of Brady St. in Fairfield, a second man who had hidden in the back seat threatened to kill her with a baseball bat he displayed. After both men raped the woman and left her there, she walked to her mother's home and called police. She was treated at Mercy Medical Center.


Baltimore County

Essex Precinct

Shooting/arrest: A man forced his way into his ex-girlfriend's house in the 800 block of Wilson Point Road early Saturday and shot her in the face with a BB pistol during an argument. Arrested that day in Baltimore and charged with attempted murder and a handgun violation was John Kager, 33, of Brooklyn in South Baltimore. He was held without bail at the county detention center

Franklin Precinct

Stolen vehicle: A 2003 Jeep Cherokee with tags M586696 was stolen Saturday in the first block of Windy Meadow Court.

For the record

Yesterday's Police Blotter incorrectly identified a man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend with a BB pistol Saturday at her home on Wilson Point Road. Held on handgun and attempted murder charges was Kager Lee Johns Jr., 33, of Brooklyn in South Baltimore. The Sun regrets the error.
