Steve and Pat Wilcoxson, of Phoenix, MD and Mary Stanford of Lynchburg, VA and Howard Bond of Blacksburg, VA are pleased to announce the wedding of their children, Sara Anne Wilcoxson and Jeffrey Howard Bond at the chapel on the campus of Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, VA on April 24, 2004. The Honorable A. Ellen White performed the wedding ceremony. Wendy J. Wilcoxson of Erie, PA and Amherst, VA, the bride's sister was maid of honor and Billiejo Fuqua of Lynchburg, VA was her attendant. Mr. Todd Cox, of Lynchburg was best man, and the groom's brother, Timothy Abbott, also of Lynchburg, was his groomsman. The reception followed at the Wailes Center on the college campus where guests came from California, Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, North Carolina and, of course, Virginia to celebrate the occasion. Doug Forbes, head of the lower school music program at Roland Park Country School, and organist at Memorial Episcopal Church, both in Baltimore, played the organ. His wife Jill, an accomplished flutist, provided additional music for the wedding. Both are graduates of the Boston Conservatory of Music and are long-time friends of the Wilcoxson family. Sara is a 1998 graduate of the the Sweet Briar College, and is employed by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Jeff is Assistant Fleet Manager for Schewel's Furniture Co. in Lynchburg. The bride and groom were introduced by Betty Sutton, Jeff's stepmother, who worked with Sara before her retirement. The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jean Wilcoxson, now Lynchburg, and the late John M. Wilcoxson, and the late Anne G. and Charles H. Mc Cracken, of Rochester, NY. The bride and groom would like to thank their family and friends for making their wedding day truly special. Following a honeymoon trip in the Caribbean, Jeff and Sara will reside in Madison Heights, in a new house they are building.
