Rosenbaum gets Citizen Services post

Susan Rosenbaum, a 27-year Howard County employee and acting director of the county's Department of Citizen Services since Manus O'Donnell's January retirement, has been named its new director.

County Executive James N. Robey announced her appointment yesterday.

"Susan's experience in developing and delivering human services has earned her the respect of the community," Robey said.

Rosenbaum began her career as a program planner in the Office on Aging, and became O'Donnell's deputy in 1991.

"I'm just very excited and thrilled to get the opportunity," she said.

Citizen Services employs 111 people and distributes $2.6 million in county funds annually to nonprofit agencies, covering needs that range from child care to consumer services.
