Finding public financial data is quick on SEC Info's Web site

Need to search public financial reports on corporations and mutual funds? Lots of Web sites will let you do that, but one of the best is a little-known gem called SEC Info at

No fancy graphics, intrusive advertising or slick design at SEC Info. Instead, all the effort seems to have gone into creating an extensive database of securities filings that is easy to search. Just type in the name of a company, corporate officer or mutual fund and watch as SEC Info quickly summons a listing of documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Canadian Securities Administrators.

After a free trial period, the site asks frequent users to pay a usage fee of $5 per log-in or monthly access fee of $20. The SEC offers its own free site at, but SEC Info beats it hands down.
