HCC honors Sutton as its Outstanding Faculty Member
Catherine W. Sutton, assistant professor in the business and computer sciences division at Howard Community College, has been named the college's Outstanding Faculty Member for 2003-2004.
Sutton, who is responsible for online courses in the college's open-entry Office Technology Lab, teaches software applications to hundreds of students. She also developed curricula and designed Web sites for 19 online courses.
As winner of the award, Sutton will lead the faculty procession at commencement, address student honorees at Dean's List receptions, and attend a major conference or other professional development event.
Outstanding Faculty award winners in each division are Benjamin Myers and Hsiu-Hui Wang (arts and humanities); Diana Wickersham (business and computer sciences); Ruth Prisaznick (continuing education and work force development); Cheryl Berman and Joan Okin (English and world languages); Laura Sessions and Sherri Pfisterer (health sciences); Guy Bunyard and Steven Carstens (mathematics); William Brown and Vernon Hartsock (science and technology); James Bell and Bobbie Fine (social sciences).
BEN Fund appoints Trimble-Oliver to its board
Nancy Trimble-Oliver of Woodstock, president and founder of Staff Quest Inc. of Owings Mills, has been named to the board of directors of the Benevolent Endowment Network Fund Inc. - The BEN Fund.
The new Baltimore-based nonprofit organization will focus on assuring that children who need pediatric neurosurgery have access to funding when insurance coverage is unavailable or insufficient.
