Coldwell Banker to help with March food drive

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is joining the U.S. Postal Service, the Baltimore Area Council Boy Scouts of America and Safeway to collect food for the annual Harvest for the Hungry Food Drive during the third week of next month.

Canned goods and other nonperishable food items can be dropped off March 13-20 at Coldwell offices in Maryland, southern Delaware, Washington and Northern Virginia.

Coldwell Banker Realtors also will be at Safeway stores collecting nonperishable food that week. Donations also will be accepted March 14 at Coldwell Banker open houses.

Gemcraft to raffle off 'House of Dreams'

Gemcraft Homes will raffle off a "House of Dreams," a new three-bedroom home in North East, on Aug. 1. Tickets are $10 through July or until 100,000 tickets are sold.

The house, at the Chesapeake Bay Golf Course, was built on land donated by Mason Dixon Realty.

Raffle proceeds benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Cecil County and other groups that offer after-school and summer programs.

Garwyn Oaks center plans open house March 6

The Garwyn Oaks Housing Resource Center has scheduled an open house for Saturday.

The neighborhood event will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 2603 Roslyn Ave.

Home & Garden Show begins next weekend

The 22nd annual Maryland Spring Home & Garden Show begins next weekend at the State Fairgrounds in Timonium.

The show, which will include more than 600 exhibitors, is scheduled for 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 12-13 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 14.

Admission is $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $3 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for children younger than age 6. Admission to the Maryland Spring Craft Show, being held in the adjacent building, is free with the Home & Garden Show tickets.
