David Glenn, who began his football coaching career as an assistant at Mount St. Joseph from 1986 through 1989, has been named the varsity football coach at Howard High, replacing Vince Parnell.

Glenn, 41, has been a varsity football assistant coach at Howard since 1997, the head track coach since 1992 and is the guidance department chairman at the school. He has worked at Howard for 15 years.

Glenn played high school football at Bishop McNamara in Prince George's County, and earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and master's in counseling from Loyola College in Baltimore.

Parnell, who resigned as football coach after eight seasons, remains the school's athletic director.
