Salisbury women rip Catholic, 19-3


Linda Ackermann and Lynsey Bateman each scored three goals to lead host Salisbury to a 19-3 win over Catholic (0-1) in the Capital Athletic Conference season opener yesterday.

The Sea Gulls (1-0) took a 9-1 lead into halftime, then scored the second half's first nine goals.

Ferrum 12, Hood 10: Tiffany Still led the Blazers (0-1) with three goals in a loss to the visiting Panthers (1-0) in a non-conference game.
