Baltimore City

Northwestern District

Arrest: Dwayne Miles, 34, of the first block of Astro Court, Baltimore County, was arrested Friday in the 2900 block of Childs St. by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force for a slaying more than six years ago. Miles is charged in a warrant with first-degree murder in the shooting Aug. 15, 1997, of Dean Dakas of the 3800 block of Pall Mall Road.

Arson: Police were seeking two teen-age males who set fire to boxes behind a house in the 4000 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Sunday afternoon, causing nearly $800 damage to the dwelling's exterior.

Southern District

Arrest: Nathaniel Ratchford, 18, of the 2200 block of McHenry St. was arrested yesterday in the 1200 block of W. Lombard St. on a charge of attempted murder in the shooting Jan. 18 of a 14-year-old boy in the 100 block of S. Carrollton Ave.

Baltimore County

White Marsh Precinct

Theft/arrests: A man, 26, and a woman, 28, were arrested Monday when they tried to leave Wal-Mart in the 6400 block of Petrie Way without paying for perfume valued at $253.

North Point Precinct

Theft/arrest: A woman sought for failure to appear in court in Baltimore was arrested Monday when she allegedly tried to take an $80 TV from Sears at Eastpoint Mall. Held on $6,000 bond at the county detention center was Petrina Kluver, 34, of the 100 block of Williams Ave.

Towson Precinct

Robbery: After placing snacks on the counter at a 7-Eleven in the 6300 block of Sherwood Ave. about 2:40 a.m. Monday, a man displayed a gun and removed $25 from a cash register.

Franklin Precinct

Burglary: A 27-inch TV, DVD player, speakers and a laundry basket apparently used to carry them away were stolen Monday from an apartment in the 200 block of Inchcape Circle.
