Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five



On Friday, February 20, 2004, WILLIAM JAMES ZIEGLER, 83, of Salisbury, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Born in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Samuel and Rose Lawrence Ziegler. Mr. Ziegler was a WWII veteran in the US Army Air Corp. He retired from the Great Atlantic Pacific & Tea Company. Mr. Ziegler is survived by two children, Denny Ziegler, of Medford, NJ and John Ziegler, of Salisbury; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Marie Ziegler in 1992; a daughter, Rose Davis and seven brothers and sisters. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at 11 A.M. at Holloway Funeral Home, in Salisbury. Friends may visit on Monday evening, February 23, 2004, from 7 to 9 P.M. and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery.
