On Monday February 16, 2004 ELIZABETH R. EVANS, 90, of Plas Goch, her residence on Beaver Lake Road, Hughesville, at the Williamsport Hospital. Born March 17, 1913, in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of Evan and Jane Owen Roberts. She and her husband, Thomas N. Evans, would have celebrated 72 years of marriage on June 26. Elizabeth was a member of the Catonsville Presbyterian Church, Catonsville Maryland and was currently attending the Kedron United Methodist Church in Strawbridge. She was active in various women's clubs and served as the Republican Committee Woman representing Penn Twp. for many years. A former member of the Eagles Mere Country Club and the Rolling Road Golf Club, Elizabeth enjoyed golfing, gardening and sewing. Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Thomas N. Evans, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Catonsville, MD; a grandson Thomas N. "Harvey" Evans, III and his wife Missy of Salisbury, MD; a granddaughter, Susan Ritter and her husband Christopher of Catonsville, MD; two great-grandsons, Thomas N. "Ted" Evans, IV and Evan Tyler Ritter; a brother-in-law, Willard B. Evans and his wife Betty of Forty Fort and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Valley United Methodist Church, Route 220, Muncy Valley with the Rev. Dr. George R. Kibbe and Joani Buck, CLS officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas, PA, at 12:30 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Catonsville Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, Kedron United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or a Charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Mc Carty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
