Drug arrest: Sgt. Allen Adkins and Officer Sean Dallessandro were in the 1400 block of W. Pratt St. about 4 a.m. Tuesday when they observed a woman in possession of narcotics. When they approached, she tried unsuccessfully to flee. Seized from the woman's mouth were three small glassine bags containing $30 to $40 worth of cocaine. Charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute was Kierra C. Smith, 18, of the 1500 block of W. Pratt St.
Arrest: Responding to a burglar alarm at Razor's Bar in the first block of E. Randall St. early Tuesday, Officer Joseph Mueller spotted a man standing outside a side door who, a witness said, had attempted to break in with a crowbar. Arrested and charged with attempted burglary was Joseph Booth, 26, of the first block of W. Barney St. A crowbar was found nearby.
Pursuit/arrest: A Prince George's County man was arrested Monday after leading area police on a nearly 20-mile chase at speeds reaching more than 100 mph. Officer Jeffrey Stewart of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police had tried to stop him at the northbound Fort McHenry Tunnel toll plaza for driving a 1993 Lexus with just one state tag. Pursuit ended on a ramp from the Beltway's inner loop to southbound Interstate 95 where the Lexus struck Stewart's patrol car and the driver, attempting to flee, was tackled by the officer. Charged with assault and multiple traffic violations was Keshon Chambers, 24, of Clinton.
Shooting: An unidentified man was walking in the 2500 block of Frederick Ave. about 6:40 p.m. yesterday when another man shot him in the leg. The victim was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Bank robbery: About 11 a.m. Tuesday, a man robbed Wachovia Bank in the 1000 block of Maiden Choice Lane of an undisclosed sum of money after giving a teller a holdup note.
Burglary: About $3,100 in computer equipment and cash were stolen Tuesday from a house in the 100 block of Rose St.
Burglary: A dog leash, dog food, candy and a coffee cup were stolen Saturday from an apartment in the first block of Stag Horn Court.
