British-schoolboy-turned-rapper-turned-American-ex-con Slick Rick will continue his storytelling tradition Saturday at the Ottobar.

A recent scrape with U.S. immigration services landed lyricist Rick behind bars for several months. But the trouble has been settled, and the legendary hip-hop master, who once served five years for attempted murder, is once again out of jail.

The Def Jam Recordings artist will take the stage after doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $20.

Pop-punk MTX

Seminal pop-punk group the Mr. T Experience will get loud Wednesday at the Talking Head.

MTX, which recently released its 10th studio recording on the Lookout! Records label, will play a set after the Proteens, the Beatnik Termites and the Copyrights throw down.
