Eastern District
Arrest: Joseph McCoy, 17, was arrested Wednesday several blocks from his home in the 1600 block of E. Preston St. on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. He is accused in the shooting Feb. 5 of Zachary Brooks, 56, near the victim's home in the 1400 block of N. Bond St. McCoy was charged as an adult and held at Central Booking and Intake Center.
Robbery: A man placed food items and cigarettes on the counter at Pop's Grocery in the 900 block of N. Chester St. about 9 a.m. Wednesday, then pulled out a handgun and forced an employee to gave him money from the cash register. The gunman escaped with an undisclosed sum, as well as the food and cigarettes.
Central District
Carjacking: Jarrice Hamlin was standing in the 2500 block of Linden Ave. about 11 p.m. Wednesday when another man struck him in the head, stole his keys and drove away in his 1998 Acura with tags JLE 404.
Southeastern District
Burglary: A tile-cutting saw and stove were stolen Wednesday from a house under renovation in the first block of N. Chester St.
Vandalism: A Chevrolet sedan and a 2000 Toyota Camry had windows shattered Wednesday while they were parked in the 2200 block of Cecil Ave.
Stolen vehicle: A purple 1994 Volkswagen Jetta with Virginia tag YEX 8137 was stolen Wednesday from the 600 block of S. Eden St.
Baltimore County
North Point Precinct
Assault: A 21-year-old man was in critical condition at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center after he was severely beaten Wednesday afternoon in the 1600 block of Four Georges Court.
Towson Precinct
Robbery: Police were seeking two men, one armed with a knife, who shoved a woman, 20, against a wall in the first block of York Road about 9 p.m. Tuesday and robbed her of $10.
Cockeysville Precinct
Burglary: A 16-gauge J.C. Higgins shotgun and video games - all valued at $1,305 - were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 21600 block of Orwig Road.
Burglary: At least 200 DVD movies and an electric saw were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 16200 block of Falls Road.
Franklin Precinct
Robbery: Two gunmen robbed the Royal Farms in the 2300 block of Smith Ave. of $75 about 11:25 p.m. Tuesday.
Woodlawn Precinct
Robbery: A man, 28, was walking in the 6900 block of Security Blvd. about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday when a gunman robbed him of a cellular phone, two jackets, a wallet and watch - all valued at $600.
