Man dies in fatal stabbing; his girlfriend is arrested
A 46-year old man died yesterday in the emergency room at Johns Hopkins Hopkins Hospital after being stabbed during an altercation in the east-side public housing complex home of his girlfriend, police said. It was the city's 31st homicide of the year, police said.
Lester Brown of the 2900 block of Edgecombe Circle North was found by police responding to a 911 call about 11:45 a.m. from the home of his girlfriend in the 1200 block of Treeleaf Court. Brown was in a first-floor room bleeding from stab wounds to the chest, legs and hands. He died less than an hour later at Hopkins, said Detective Darren Sanders.
Arrested at the scene and charged last night with first-degree murder was Collie Thomas, 38. Police said Brown and Thomas had known each other for a few years.
