On Saturday February 7, 2004 REV. BONIFACE (FRANCIS) C. RUZICH, O. SS.T., 78, a priest of the Order of the Most Holy Trinity (Trinitarians) and Pastor of St. James R.C. Church in Trenton since 1984, of complications relating to a major heart attack. A native of Johnston City, IL, Fr. Boniface was born on August 6, 1025 to Anthony Ruzich and Angeline Vidas. He entered the Trinitarians on September 6, 1948, professed hi Solemn Vows on January 1, 1955 and was ordained to the Priesthood on June 6, 1959. Prior to being named Pastor at St. James in 1984, Fr. Boniface served in internal ministry in the USA Province of the Order successively as Secretary Provincial, Provincial Councilor and as a Director of religious and priestly formation from 1959 to 1970 to 1978, he served as Superior of St. John DeMatha Monastery, as well as teacher and Dean of Students at DeMatha Catholic High School, Hyattsville, MD. Subsequently, he served as Associate Pastor of Holy Rosary Church, Perth Amboy, NJ and at St. James in Trenton prior to his appointment as Pastor. He is the son of the Anthony and Angeline Vidas Ruzich; brother of the late Mary Wiseman and Joseph Ruzich. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. The late Fr. Boniface can be viewed Tuesday, February 10 from 3 to 5 p.m. at St. James R.C. Church, 29 East Paul Ave., Trenton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by the Most Reverend John M. Smith, Bishop of Trenton at 7 p.m. Tuesday February 10 at St. James Church. Interment at the Trinitarian Community Cemetery in Baltimore, MD will follow a Morning Prayer Service at Holy Trinity Monastery, 8400 Park Heights Ave, Balto., MD in Wednesday, February 11, at 11 a.m. A luncheon will follow in the Monastery dining room after the burial.
