Course scheduled on grain marketing


The Carroll County Department of Economic Development, Mid-Atlantic Farm Credit and the Maryland Cooperative Extension are offering a course on advanced grain marketing.

The program is offered online from Iowa State University for farmers, lenders and other agricultural professionals.

The course will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Mondays from Feb. 16 to March 15 at Carroll Community College's Miller Center.

Students will learn enhanced marketing and risk-management skills, and create a usable marketing plan with expert assistance. Roger Dell of Dell Brothers Grain in Westminster will lead the discussion.

The cost is $10, payable in advance or at the first class. The registration deadline is Friday.
