Auction co. to use $1 million loan for rare doll collection
BankAnnapolis will provide a $1 million business loan to Theriault's, an Annapolis antique doll auction company.
The loan will fund the acquisition of a rare collection of automatons, movable mechanical dolls produced between 1850 and 1920. The private collection of 130 automatons comes from a French collector who accumulated them during several decades.
Theriault's will offer the automatons at its annual auction in Las Vegas in May. Theriault holds several dozen auctions a year across the United States and on its Web site at www.theriaults.com.
The Annapolis auction company has 25 employees and is one of the largest specialty collection houses in the world. BankAnnapolis serves small businesses, professional concerns and individuals through six community banking offices in Anne Arundel and Queen Anne's counties.
