Costa leads McDaniel to 74-58 rout of Washington

The McDaniel College women's team never trailed and led by as many as 25 points as it cruised to a 74-58 win over host Washington College in a Centennial Conference game last night.

Kristy Costa scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Kelly Cramp added 12 points for the Green Terror (14-2, 10-0).

The Shorewomen (4-12, 2-9) trailed by double digits for all but the first 12:25 of the game.

Meghan Hartzell came off the bench to lead Washington College with 14 points and six rebounds.

Starters Liz Smith and Karen Simos added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Washington.

Mary Washington 66, Goucher 57: Stephanie Tolbert scored a game-high 20 points, but the Gophers (9-7, 3-4) fell to the visiting Eagles (7-9, 4-3) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Goucher took a 57-53 lead with 3:41 remaining on a basket by Stacy Hollander, but the Gophers were outscored 13-0 the rest of the way.

Marymount 67, Salisbury 59: The Sea Gulls (9-9, 3-4) pulled within four points at 63-59 with 28 seconds left but were unable to catch the visiting Saints (16-2, 6-1) in a Capital Athletic Conference game.

Sophomore Christen Barney paced the Sea Gulls with 16 points and freshman Jenna Peters scored 10.

Binghamton 61, UMBC 48: Rachel Laws posted team highs of 16 points and 10 rebounds as the Bearcats (11-4, 6-1) beat the Retrievers (0-16, 0-7) in an America East game.

UMBC committed 20 turnovers and was out-rebounded 34-25 in the loss.
