Suspect in Annapolis shooting was killed in October, police say

After a four-month investigation, Annapolis police have named a suspect in the shooting death of 20-year-old Glen Burnie resident Krio Ronjay Smith Turner.

But police say the suspect, Zewan Montez Henriques, 25, of Annapolis, was shot and killed Oct. 31 in what they believe was an unrelated crime.

Police said Turner was killed during an attempted robbery in a parking lot on President Street near the Harbor House complex in Eastport at 1:40 a.m. Sept. 7.

According to police, two armed men approached Turner and a group of friends and tried to rob them. Police said Turner spoke to the gunmen, which prompted one of them to shoot him once in the torso. Turner died at the scene.

Police said that an eyewitness led them to suspect Henriques in the death of Turner and that they are still searching for an accomplice.

Henriques, a graduate of Annapolis High School, was shot to death late Halloween night in the 1100 block of President St. Police said they are still investigating the shooting, which occurred 150 yards from where Turner was killed.
