Two men were arrested and charged yesterday with the robbery and unlawful detention of a Pikesville-area couple. One of the suspects -- described as a stepson of the couple -- is accused of trying to force the husband to withdraw money from a bank, Baltimore County police said
About noon, Marvin Sachs was accosted by two masked men and forced at gunpoint into his home in the 400 block of Old Crossing Drive, police said.
One of the men remained there with Sachs' wife, Eileen, while the other followed her husband to a Bank of America branch on Old Court Road.
Told to withdraw money while the masked man remained outside in a car, Sachs went inside -- but instead called police. Officers arrived within minutes, arrested the man in the car and seized a pellet gun.
Back at the house, police said, the other suspect stole coins from a safe and a wallet containing cash but did not harm the woman. Police arrested him there, after a struggle, they said.
Charged with armed robbery, unlawful detention and assault and held on $250,000 bond each were Mark Zenitz, 47, whom police described as the stepson of Marvin Sachs, and Vincent T. Penix, 36, both of the 6500 block of Park Heights Ave., police said.
