Dunbar (5-0) at Edmondson (4-1)

Outlook: Dunbar (4-0 league) enters this Baltimore City Division I game having won two straight since being shut out by Patterson, 22-0. Edmondson (3-1 league) is looking to rebound from a 28-8 loss to Poly that ended its 15-game winning streak against city teams. Dunbar had a 36-8 advantage in its past two victories over Mervo and Walbrook, squads Edmondson shut out by a combined 44-0.

City (4-1) vs. No. 15 Patterson (3-2)

Where: Utz Park

Time: 7 p.m.

Outlook: City (2-1 league) rides a three-game winning streak into this Division I contest against Patterson (1-2 league), who are led by LB-RB Thomas Smith (6 feet 3 inches, 213 pounds).

St. Mary's (3-2) at Cardinal Gibbons (5-0)

Time: 7 p.m.

Outlook: This MIAA B Conference opener pits defending co-champion St. Mary's (0-0 league) against upstart Gibbons (0-0 league). St. Mary's RB Donte Sylve (823 yards, 10 TDs) is listed among the area's best rushers, but Gibbons' Cory Robinson (481, nine TDs) and Antwarn Jones (452, five) aren't far behind.


No. 5 Woodlawn (4-1) at No. 9 Randallstown (4-1)

Time: 2 p.m.

Outlook: Randallstown (2-0 league) has relied defensively on LB Bryan Parker, LB Melvin Alaeze and LB Tony Adebusola. But there is also the Rams' 6-6, 330-pound OL-DL Andrian Brown and Maryland-bound WR-DB Christian Varner, who returned one of his four interceptions for a TD in last week's 32-7 rout of previously unbeaten Perry Hall. But QB Justin Ross of Woodlawn (2-0 league), Varner's childhood friend, won last year's game, 12-6, on a on a 13-yard TD pass to WR Lewan Leslie before scoring the game-winning 4-yard TD run with 1:34 left. Maryland-bound OL-DL Scott Burley of Woodlawn protects Ross (901 passing yards, five TDs) and RB Jordan Brown (330 rushing, five TDs). Leslie has 22 receptions for 445 yards.

Loyola (2-3) at No. 10 McDonogh (4-1)

Time: 2 p.m.

Outlook: Loyola (0-0 league) has suffered three tough losses to solid teams, but it enters this MIAA A Conference game with an upset mentality. McDonogh (0-0 league), coming off last year's 3-6 season, has won three straight games, including its past two by a combined 68-14 over St. Mary's and league rival Calvert Hall.
