Bel Air's arts festival still planned for today
Despite last week's storm, the Bel Air Festival of the Arts will take place today as scheduled, organizers said yesterday.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Shamrock Park behind Town Hall.
Tech company forum to address patents, capital
The Harford County Office of Economic Development, the Small Business Development Center of Harford County and the Northeastern Maryland Technology Council will sponsor the Regional Business and Financial Resources for Technology Companies Forum from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 1 at the Higher Education and Applied Technology Center in Aberdeen.
The forum provides an opportunity for businesses to learn about obtaining patents, creating trademarks, soliciting capital and finding local technology resources. Panelists include Fish and Richardson, Astrachan, Gunst, Thomas, Ernst & Young, and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development's Investment Group.

Harford County has seven locations for residents to obtain potable water:

Fallston High School, 2301 Carrs Mill Road, Fallston
North Harford High School, 211 Pylesville Road, Pylesville
Tanker trucks at these sites can dispense water into a container. Residents must take their own containers.
Scarboro Landfill will be open from dawn to dusk today to accept yard waste at no charge for Harford County residents only. Information: 410-638-3638.
Baltimore Gas and Electric has reported it has no more dry ice available. BGE and Connective are working to restore electrical services to Harford County residents.

HCC trustees to meet in public session Oct. 14
The Board of Trustees of Harford Community College will meet in public session at 6 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Board Room of the college's Chesapeake Center.
Montgomery executive to speak at fund-raiser
Douglas M. Duncan, who is in his third term as Montgomery County executive, will be the guest speaker at a Democratic fund-raiser to be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 22 at Del. Mary-Dulany James' Old Bay Farm in Havre de Grace.
