Katherine W. Jacobson, 80, homemaker

Katherine W. Jacobson, a homemaker who enjoyed camping, died of complications from diabetes Monday at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The longtime Glen Arm resident was 80.

Born and raised Katherine Winter in Guernsey, Wyo., she earned her bachelor's degree in education in 1944 from the University of Wyoming. She taught for a year in Wyoming public schools before marrying Dr. Wayne E. Jacobson, a psychiatrist, in 1945.

Mrs. Jacobson liked refinishing and reupholstering antique furniture, cooking, and camping with her family near Yellowstone National Park.

She also had been a volunteer with the YWCA.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road in Middle River.

In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Eric W. Jacobson of New York City; a daughter, Kirsten R. Radcliffe of Glen Arm; a brother, Pete Winter of Oklahoma City; a sister, Helen Duncan of Fort Laramie, Wyo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
