Grading work already begun for the first phase of construction at the 160-acre Western Regional Park in Glenwood may continue, thanks to a vote of the Maryland Board of Public Works in Annapolis yesterday .
The three-member board - the governor, comptroller and state treasurer - approved without discussion spending $666,500 to continue the work, which will provide three baseball fields, two soccer fields, roads, parking and restrooms and a concession stand, by fall 2004.

The money comes from the state's Program Open Space. State officials have previously approved $3.6 million from that program for the $14.1 million park.
