Marilyn R. Austin, who owned and operated a bookkeeping and accounting business, died of lung cancer Friday at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Del. She was 66.
Born in Passaic, N.J., and raised in Burlington, N.J., Miss Austin earned a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1982 from what is now Towson University.
For many years, she ran her bookkeeping and accounting business out of her home in Hunt Valley, in Glyndon and, since 1998, in Milton, Del.
Miss Austin enjoyed tole painting, a form of decorative art on tin surfaces. An avid flower and vegetable gardener, she was a Delaware master gardener. She also liked sewing, reading and travel.
Miss Austin was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Western Run Parish, 3738 Butler Road in Glyndon, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Miss Austin is survived by two sons, Jason E. Knight of San Francisco and Brooke A. Knight of Medford, Mass.; a sister, Ann Austin of Milton, Del.; and a granddaughter. Her marriage to Earl Knight ended in divorce.
