Baltimore City


Central District

Shooting: Michael Williams, 18, was talking with friends in the 500 block of Bloom St. about 12:20 a.m. yesterday when a gunman, whose face was covered with a scarf, shot him in the groin. Williams was treated at Maryland Shock Trauma Center. No arrest had been made.


Southeastern District

Shooting: A man, 19, and a woman, 18, were walking in the 1300 block of Angelsea St. about 8 p.m. Wednesday when a shotgun was fired from a car that had stopped nearby, hitting them with pellets. The man was treated at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, while the woman refused medical attention. Police said the shooting was the result of an argument between the man and another male.

Eastern District

Burglary: A videocassette recorder and a compact disc changer were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 700 block of Bartlett Ave. by someone who entered after splitting a rear door in half. The loss was estimated at $350.

Theft: Power tools valued at $309 were stolen Wednesday from a construction site in Green Mount Cemetery in the 1500 block of Greenmount Ave.

Burglary: Ceiling fans valued at $1,000 were stolen Wednesday from a house under renovation in the 1600 block of E. Chase St.

Northern District

Robbery: A 19-year-old Prince George's County woman was walking in the 2500 block of N. Howard St. about 3 p.m. Wednesday when a teen-age male armed with a handgun threatened to shoot her and took $32.


Stolen vehicle: A green four-door 1998 Plymouth Neon with tags KHE 978 was stolen Wednesday in the first block of W. Lake Ave.

Burglary: Stereo equipment of unknown value was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 2600 block of Miles Ave.

Baltimore County

North Point Precinct

Drug arrest: After stopping a motorist on North Point Boulevard near Merritt Boulevard about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, Officer Cedric Johnson detected alcohol on the driver's breath and arrested him on a charge of driving under the influence. A search of the man turned up $1,500 cash and cocaine valued at $1,000. Charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine was Justin Kaschenbach, 23, of the 3900 block of Bush Court in Abingdon. He was held on $100,000 bail.

White Marsh Precinct


Burglary: Someone entered through a basement door and stole at least $600 in quarters Tuesday from a business office in a house in the 5300 block of Kenwood Ave.

Burglary: Someone entered a house in the 6000 block of Framingham Road and stole a brass music box, tie clip, jewelry and $60 in pennies Tuesday.

Garrison Precinct

Burglary/arrest: Police responding to a burglary-in-progress call at an apartment in the first block of Caraway Road about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday arrested a man as he was leaving a dwelling there. Charged with burglary was Phillip Austensen, 41, of the first block of Shetland Circle, Reisterstown. No property was reported taken.

Parkville Precinct

Burglary: A laptop computer valued at $2,500 was stolen Wednesday from a house in the 4000 block of Marjeff Place.
