NORMAN GINSBERG, 89, retired President of Wieland's Furniture Company died at Carroll County Hospital after a short illness. He was born and raised in Baltimore where he and his brother Marvin Ginsberg established Highland Furniture in 1948. The business grew from the one small store in Highlandtown to four stores across Baltimore, which included Wieland Furniture Company. When they purchased Wieland's, the name of the company was changed to Wieland Furniture. Norman was one of the founders of the Furniture Retailers Association of Maryland and served as the first President of the organization from 1955 through 1957. He is survived by his wife Helen (nee Bacharach); his daughter Ina Harrison and his grandchildren, Rose Oppenheim, DVM, Elisa Losee, PA, William Walter and Marc Ginsberg and five great-grandchildren. His son Neal Ginsberg predeceased him in 1995. Services at Sol Levinson and Bros., Inc., 8900 Reisterstown Road (at Mt. Wilson Lane) on Thursday, August 14 at 11 AM. Interment Baltimore Hebrew Cemetery, Berrymans Lane. Please omit flowers. In mourning at 526 Locust Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
