Some bright, some not

The stylistically variant paintings of local artist Connell Patrick Byrne are on display at the Beveled Edge Gallery.

Many works from the exhibit, titled Apocalypse in a Teapot, are based on Christian iconography and religious scriptures. But all of Byrne's acrylic pieces vary in style, tone and composition. Some brightly colored works are reminiscent of late 1960s psychedelic poster art, while other, pastel-hued paintings are more subdued and childlike.

Apocalypse in a Teapot will be on display through Sept. 13.

The Beveled Edge Gallery is at 5909 Falls Road. Hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays. For more information, call the gallery at 410-435-1427.
