Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.



Southeastern District

Armed robbery: A woman was robbed at knifepoint about 2:45 a.m. Saturday in the 2700 block of E. Fayette St. A suspect was arrested that morning in the 400 block of N. Lakewood Ave.


Burglary: A thief who apparently entered through an unlocked kitchen window stole $1,050 in cash Friday from a residence in the 200 block of S. Chapel St. A resident left at 10 a.m. and returned at 3 p.m. to find his locked bedroom door broken open and the cash missing from a cabinet.

Burglary: A woman who left her home at noon Friday in the 400 block of Hornel St. returned about 7:30 p.m. to find a steam cleaner missing from her kitchen. Nothing else was disturbed. Police said the thief apparently gained access through an unlocked first-floor rear window.

Northern District

Theft: A silver mountain bike was reported stolen from the back yard of a residence in the 5500 block of South Bend Road between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday.

Southern District

Sexual assault: A woman was sexually assaulted by a man who approached her early Friday with one or more companions at a bus stop in the 3200 block of W. North Ave. After threatening to shoot her, one of the men told her to start walking and sit down on a bench, forced her to perform a sex act, and ran away.

Western District

Burglary: A thief who apparently entered through an unlocked basement door took four digital video discs, five Toshiba speakers and a 57-inch JVC television set from a home in the 2000 block of Westwood Ave. The burglary occurred sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.


Arson: A fire believed to have been intentionally set and fueled with gasoline caused an estimated $5,500 in damage to the back porch, kitchen and contents of a house in the 1000 block of N. Payson St. about 4 a.m. Friday.


Woodlawn Precinct

Armed robbery: A man was robbed at gunpoint about 12:30 a.m. Saturday after he got off a Maryland Transit Administration bus near Windsor Mill Road and Kernan Drive. The robber got out of a blue compact car, pulled out a silver handgun and told the victim to empty his pockets. The robber took $150, a checkbook and various papers.

Burglary: Someone pried open a rear kitchen window of a home in the 1200 block of McAdoo Ave. between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Friday, and stole jewelry, digital video discs and a power drill.

Garrison Precinct


Burglary: A thief entered the garage of a house in the first block of Beecham Court between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Thursday and stole a laptop computer, a Palm Pilot and credit cards.

Towson Precinct

Burglary: A thief entered an apartment in the first block of Oberlin Court through an unlocked door between midnight July 15 and 5 p.m. Thursday and stole a case of bottled water and several trash cans.

Cockeysville Precinct

Armed robbery: A 16-year-old girl was robbed at gunpoint by three men in black masks who came up behind her in the vestibule of an apartment complex in the 300 block of Lord Byron Court about 11 p.m. Friday. One of the men told her to take her clothes off. When she refused, they demanded her jewelry then fled on foot.
