Twins update

This series, like all the others, is big for the Twins as they try to catch first-place Kansas City in the American League Central. They are 4 1/2 games behind going into tonight, and are also 2 1/2 behind second-place Chicago. Shannon Stewart has been a good pickup for the Twins. He is batting .428 since the Blue Jays traded him for Bobby Kielty on July 16. Minnesota has won four of its past five. The Twins took two of three from the Orioles last week at the Metrodome, winning in bizarre fashion Thursday when an apparent third strike that would have ended the game got past catcher Brook Fordyce and allowed the tying run to score. The Twins won it in the 10th. Radke allowed one run in 7 1/3 innings to win Wednesday, and Rogers was spared a loss the next night after surrendering seven runs and 10 hits in five innings.
