Howard County Fair

You've got to love a fair that has a cow-milking contest, a tractor pull and a pig race. That would be the 58th annual Howard County Fair, which runs Saturday through Aug. 9 at the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship. Visitors can also see 4-H demonstrations, horse shows, a slow-tractor race, pie-eating contest, petting zoo, livestock shows, a farmer's market, threshing demonstrations, antique auto show and much more. There'll be live music each day of the fair, including Baltimore's Marching Ravens, as well as carnival rides and games.
