Northwestern District

Victim named: Police identified yesterday Ahamean Ross, 29, whose address was not available, as the man fatally shot early Wednesday in front of an auto body repair shop in the 4700 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. Police had no suspect and knew of no motive. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Eric Sharp at 410-396-2100.


Eastern District

Arrests: Two men were arrested Wednesday by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on first-degree murder charges in the shooting May 28 of James Bowens, 22, of the 2100 block of Ramsay St. The killing in the 1700 block of N. Port St. was drug-related, police said. Clayton Colkley, 28, of the 2600 block of Polk St. was arrested in the lobby of the District Court Building in the 1400 block of E. North Ave., where he was to appear on an unrelated charge, police said. Arrested in the basement of his home in the 3200 block of Elmora Ave. was Darnell Fields, 23. Both were being held at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Northern District

Assault/arrest: A resident of the 600 block of Willow Ave. was arrested Wednesday at his home and charged with aggravated assault in the cutting of Edward Loveless, 65, of the 500 block of Willow Ave., during an argument that day. Charged was Howard Dontey Johnson, 23. Loveless was cut on the arms, chest and stomach and was reported in satisfactory condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Stolen vehicle: A white 1995 Hyundai with tags JLL 070 was stolen Wednesday in the 200 block of E. 31st St.

Stolen vehicle: A red 1991 Toyota with tags JFJ 821 was stolen Wednesday in the 2300 block of N. Charles St.

Southern District

Theft: Four gold crosses and a cellular telephone - all valued at nearly $2,000 - and $45 in cash - were stolen Wednesday from a 1995 Ford Windstar parked in the 500 block of S. Charles St.


Stolen vehicle: A red 1989 Ford Ranger with tags 94K454 was stolen Wednesday in the 1300 block of Patapsco St.

Theft: A bicycle valued at $250 was stolen Wednesday from the rear yard of a house in the 1500 block of Jackson St.

Theft from vehicle: The face plate of a stereo radio was stolen Wednesday from a Chevrolet Blazer parked in the 1100 block of W. Hamburg St.

Theft: A global positioning system, sunglasses, tennis shoes and clothing - all valued at $880 - were stolen Wednesday from a 1997 Honda Accord in the first block of W. Lee St.

Southwestern District

Stolen vehicle/arson: A 1997 Ford Explorer reported stolen this month was found burning early Wednesday in the 3700 block of Coolidge Ave.



Cockeysville Precinct

Burglary: Jewelry valued at $500, more than $150 and a safe-deposit box containing $3,300 in U.S. savings bonds were stolen Wednesday from a house in the first block of Cinder Road.

North Point Precinct

Burglary: While three residents of a house in the 2000 block of Larkhill Road were asleep in their living room Wednesday night, someone entered a second-floor room and stole two pit bull puppies valued at $200.

Garrison Precinct


Burglary: A videocassette recorder and power tools were stolen Wednesday from a house under construction in the 3700 block of Fieldstone Road.

Stolen vehicle: A gold 1997 Lexus with tags JLL 536 was stolen Wednesday in the 6000 block of Liberty Road.
