Wine of the week

2002 Boordy Chardonnay, Maryland ($12). This well-crafted Maryland chardonnay is not in the accompanying article because it really isn't a seasonal wine but one that should show well for at least the next year or two. It's a crisp, medium-bodied chardonnay that doesn't go heavy on the oak. The fruit really jumps out, with nuances of lemon, apple, pear and nuts. There's an icy, peppery intensity to the wine that should make it a fine match with most seafood (but not tuna steaks).
