Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company will hold a countywide dance for youth from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the fire hall.
Ages 12 to 18, or in grades seven to 12, are welcome. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Soft drinks will be sold for 25 cents and hot dogs for 50 cents.
The fire hall is at 8 W. Locust St.
Union Bridge election scheduled for May 13
Union Bridge will hold a town election May 13 for mayor and two council members.
To vote, residents must be U.S. citizens, age 18 on or before election day, must have lived in the town 30 days before the election, and be registered. Voter registration closes April 14.
To run for office, candidates must have lived in the town for at least a year, be at least age 18 and be a qualified town voter. The term of office is four years.
Candidates must file a Certificate of Nomination with the town clerk by 4 p.m. April 14.
The election will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall, 104 W. Locust St.

The Taneytown library branch, 10 Grand Drive, will offer:
Family Story Time for all ages (ages 3 and younger must be with an adult) at 9:45 a.m. today on "Tick Tock" and 7 p.m. Wednesday on "Down in the Jungle."
"Creating Beautiful Walls with Rubber Stamps" for adults at 7 p.m. today. Rubber-stamping techniques to use on walls will be demonstrated as an alternative to stenciling.
Union Bridge volunteers announce officers for 2003
Union Bridge Volunteer Fire Company has announced its 2003 officers.
Administrative officers are Thomas Garber, president; Edgar Wentz, vice president; Linda Bostian, secretary; Mike Kreimer, treasurer, and Daniel Cartzendafner, assistant; Barbara Warehime, recording secretary; and the Rev. Richard Michael, chaplain.
Executive board members are Rick Etzler, Jim Harris, Jim Sinnott and David Nelson.
Trustees are Richard Gesell, Jamie Hooper, John Keeney and Rick Wetzel.
Executive committee members are Doug Bostian and Jerry Harris.
Fire officers are Chad Green, chief; Dan Zile, assistant chief; Freddie Green Jr., captain; Eddie Arnold, first lieutenant; and Brian Hooper, second lieutenant.
Rescue officers are Mike Cartwright, captain; Steve Keeney, first lieutenant; and Dwayne Stine, second lieutenant.
Emergency medical services officers are Brenda Burdette, EMS captain; and Steve Redcliff, first EMS lieutenant.
Resident trooper assigned to duty in New Windsor
New Windsor residents who attended the Town Council meeting this month met the town's new resident trooper.
Mayor Samuel Pierce introduced Trooper Chip Leonard to the council and those present.
Leonard grew up on Stone Road in Westminster and has served at the Maryland State Police Westminster barracks for five years.
Taneytown: Kevin Click and Jennifer Young are the parents of a 6-pound, 15-ounce son, Landen Ray Click, born March 13 at Carroll County General Hospital.
