Admissions coordinator named at Carroll Lutheran
Lisa Brosenne of Westminster has been named admissions coordinator at Carroll Lutheran Village, with responsibility for admissions to the Health Care Center and Diven House.
She will give tours, take applications, give resident orientations and help with legal documents necessary for admission.
A 10-year employee of the village, she has worked in a number of positions, most recently as part-time interim admissions coordinator while also offering clerical support.
Brosenne is pursuing business administration courses at Carroll Community College.
New Windsor State Bank announces staff changes
New Windsor State Bank has announced employee changes and a board of directors election.
Lisa Monthley has been promoted to the newly formed position of vice president of business development. She has 16 years' experience and was previously manager of the bank's College Square branch.
Brenda Fisher recently joined the bank as vice president and senior branch officer of the College Square office. She has more than 30 years' leadership experience in banking.
D. Arthur Seibel was recently elected to the bank's board of directors. The Finksburg resident is founder and president of Green Valley Consulting Inc. He has experience in planning, development and auditing for several global firms.
CHANGE recognizes staff for length of service
CHANGE Inc., an organization that assists individuals with disabilities, is recognizing its employees for length of service.
Those honored are: Christine Fisher, registered nurse and coordinator of health services, 18 years; Herman Drechsler, transportation, 13 years; Diane Brown, day habilitation, Wade Garland and Sean Willis, transportation, and Charles Householder, support services, three years; Sean Bumstead CSLA, and Melissa Hughes, day habilitation, one year.
Fitness center sponsors workshop for trainers
Health and Fitness at Carrolltown Center recently sponsored a weekend group fitness certification and cardio-mix workshop for its instructors with the Minneapolis-based National Dance Exercise Instructor Training Alliance (NDEITA).
Debra Cancro, Dianna Fornarro, Betty Lewis and Edye Norton earned group fitness certifications. Cancro will specialize in step and floor aerobics. Fornarro is studying for certification in Pilates. Norton is certified to teach tai chi.
Lewis is a certified yoga instructor who teaches Hatha yoga in the Iyengar tradition at Health and Fitness.
Cancro, Carole Concari, Tracy Cox, Meghan McDonald-Lyons, Dorothy Roberts, Breanna Shumpert and Bridget Wetzel, all NDEITA-certified instructors, also attended NDEITA's cardio-mix workshop. The workshop focused on choreography in both step and floor aerobics.
Westminster shops plan cigar-box craft auction
Westminster Cigar Shop and the Main Depot will co-sponsor a silent auction of locally crafted cigar box handbags this spring.
Interested crafters are invited to stop in either store in the first block of East Main Street and pick up two free cigar boxes - one to keep and one to turn into a fashion handbag. Boxes will be available Wednesday.
Beginning April 21, the handbags will be displayed for silent auction at Mail Stop Crafts. Bids will be taken through the end of the business day May 9.
Proceeds from the auction will go to the Dominican Foundation to provide educational and self-improvement programs to impoverished children in the Dominican Republic.
