County government slates emergency blood drive March 31
Carroll County government will hold an emergency blood drive for employees and the public, as requested by the Red Cross to help replenish its dwindling supplies.
The drive will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. March 31 in the public hearing room of the County Office Building, 225 N. Center St., Westminster.
Donors must 17 years old, in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, have not received a tattoo in the last year and have not donated whole blood in the past 56 days.

GOP central committee to raffle Harley motorcycle
The Carroll County Republican Central Committee is holding a raffle for a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Tickets are $5 each, with a limit of 10 per person. The winner will be announced at the West Carroll Republican Club's annual corn roast in September.
The committee meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Thursday of the month at a different location. Information: 410-840-9723.
15 municipal workers earn certificates in training
Fifteen municipal employees in Carroll Community College's Momentum program have completed the required 100 hours of training to earn a certificate.
Employees could earn a certificate of achievement in management training or office administration training designed to sharpen skills and provide new knowledge in government work.
The Momentum program is a collaborative effort among the eight Carroll County municipalities, the college and county government.
Thirteen class members work for the Carroll County government and two work for the city of Westminster.
Those earning a certificate in office administration training are: Wanda Brown, Dawn Grossnickle, Mary Inouye, Sandra Keefer, Coral L. Kipe, Mary Moser, David P. Reese Sr. and Roxann Yeager, all from the Carroll County government; and Sandra Calvert and Sandra Ebaugh, both from Westminster.
Those earning a certificate in management training are: V. Kirk Bonner, Brenda J. M. Dinne, Ronald Haines, David P. Reese Sr. and Carl Roper, all from the county government.
