On February 28, 2003, JOE HANLE was born in Schwabisch Gmund Germany on March 20, 1909, completed 7th grade, served a five year apprenticeship program to become an electrician and before coming to the US in 1930, was involved in bringing electricity to many of the small villages surrounding his hometown. Here, he went to night school to learn English (although he could never say 33rd Street worth a darn) married Julia Mueller in 1933, became a citizen in 1936, started his own industrial motor repair business in 1941 (Hanle Electric Company), had five children (Joe, Eileen, Richard, Ken and John). He worked hard so they would never be hungry as he often was as a kid. Offered support to each of them for higher education and finally retired from "The Shop" when he was 85. The best acknowledgement of his life would be taking a moment to think of Joe and other great hardworking men like him the next time you flick a switch to bring life out of darkness. Friends may call at the family owned Leonard J. Ruck Inc., Funeral Home, 5305 Harford Road (at Echodale), on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Dominic Church, Saturday at 11:30 A.M. Interment Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
