Died suddenly on Sunday, March 2, 2003, KENNETH C. BOBLITZ, age 66, Baltimore City School Teacher. A retired Baltimore City School Teacher of 34 years. Born in Baltimore in 1936. He was a graduate of Baltimore City College and then received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Towson State College in 1958. Mr. Boblitz began teaching in the Baltimore City School System at Holabird Elementary School. As a lifelong resident of Hampden, he was very happy to be transferred to Robert Poole Elementary School in 1968. Several years later, he was transferred to Hampden Elementary School, where he worked until his retirement in 1992. In addition he taught driver's education for the City Schools in the 1970's at Western & Northwestern. He will probably be best remembered by his Hampden students for his interesting and fun science classes and his love of classical music. On occasion, he would take groups of students to the Symphony or the Opera. After retiring, he pursued his love of science and nature by volunteering at the National Aquarium. He was an active member of the Wyman Park Community Association and a volunteer for the Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association. He is survived by his wife Catherine; son Christopher and his wife Jane Burka; daughter Carrie Martin and her husband Michael. He is also survived by brothers, Harry and his wife Carol, Robert, and sisters Barbara Pearce and her husband Jim and Carol Easton and her husband Lee, and many relatives and friends. Friends are invited to call at the Burgee-Henss-Seitz Funeral Home Inc, 3631 Falls Rd, on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Graveside services will be held 10 A.M. Thursday, at Parkwood Cemetery, 3310 Taylor Avenue. Please meet the family just inside the cemetery gate.
