Siemek is appointed a vice president at KCI

KCI Technologies has appointed Joseph J. Siemek as a vice president of the Hunt Valley-based regional engineering firm. He will oversee the expansion of the firm's public utilities operations. A trained engineer, he is active with the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Council of Engineering Companies. The Bel Air resident has also earned an M.B.A. from Loyola College.

Brophy, Johnson named vice presidents at Optinel

Optinel Systems, based in Elkridge, has named Tim Brophy and Gregg Johnson as vice presidents of the cable television industry optical transport systems provider.

Brophy, who will lead the optical engineering unit, earned a doctorate in engineering from Drexel University. He was formerly with Motorola Broadband Communications. Johnson, who earned a doctorate in physics from Ohio University, is assigned to hardware engineering. He was previously with Naval Research Laboratory.


Pehr, Crawford, Hodge take posts at Provident

Provident Bank appointed Michael F. Pehr as a vice president and named R. Thomas Crawford and Angela Hodge to the staff of the Baltimore regional bank.

Pehr, assigned to the bank's operations division, manages the help desk, desktop and ATM support areas. A graduate of Georgia Military College, the 18-year U.S. Army veteran lives in Catonsville.

Crawford is a team leader in the bank's commercial lending department. Formerly with Chevy Chase Bank, the Catonsville resident earned his M.B.A. from the University of Baltimore. Hodge, a Columbia resident, is manager of the Randallstown branch office. Formerly with KeyBank of Cincinnati, she is a graduate of Catawba Valley College.
